Broadcom, Tessera In Patent Settlement

Broadcom and Tessera Technologies have settled an ongoing patent dispute, according to Tessera, where the two have agree to settle and dismiss all pending litigation between them. Tessera said this morning that Broadcom entered into a new multi-year patent license agreement with Tessera. Financial details of the agreement between the two were not announced. Terra said the license provides for an upfront payment in the fourth quarter of 2017 and recurring quarterly payments beginning in the first quarter of 2018. The deal was between Broadcom and Tessera's Xperi semiconductor and IP licensing business.
