MedAnswers Gets $5M In Seed Funding For Fertility Info

Los Angeles-based MedAnswers, a startup which runs FertilityAnswers, an app and website which provides a resource to help match people to fertility services, as well as access to clinically and scientifically validated fertility information, has raised $5M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Special Situations' Life Sciences Innovation (LSI) Fund, managed by David Sable, and also included Viking Capital. The startup, led by Alice Crisci, helps those looking to access specialized fertility care. Crisci founded MedAnswers after her own experience with IVF after surviving breast cancer. According to the startup, it will use the new funding to launch new tools on its FertilityAnswer app. The company taps board-certified experts across a wide range of fields to provide information on fertility resources to its users; the company's app currently runs on iOS and Android.
