Jam City Acquires German Mobile Games Studio

Los Angeles-based mobile games developer Jam City announced on Thursday morning that it has acquired 231 Play, a Berlin, Germany-based mobile games studio. As part of the acquisition, the company says it has opened up Jam City Germany, which will be based in Berlin. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to Jam City, the founders of 231 PLay, Matthias and Thomas Hoechsmann, will both join the company, and will continue to manage development and operations for its new operation in Berlin. Jam City says it now has a total of eight studios, spread between the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Colombia, and Germany. The company also recently acquired another mobile game developer, Uken Studios, in Toronto.
