eBay, Red Pocket Mobile Partner On Wireless Plans

Thousand Oaks-based Red Pocket Mobile, a telecom provider which offers up contract-free, low-cost wireless plans, has teamed up with online auction an marketplace site eBay, to include a low cost wireless plan with every phone sold on eBay, the two said this morning. According to the companies, eBay will offer up an option to add wireless service for every phone sold on the site for as little as $5 a month. Red Pocket said its most popular plan costs $30 per month and offers up 5GB of LTE data pus unlimited data at slower speeds, plus unlimited talk, text, and international calling to over 70 countries. The $5, low-cost plan eBay will be offering with all phones sold on the site provides 100 minutes, 100 texts and 500MB of LTE data every month. Financial details of the deal between eBay and Red Pocket Mobile were not announced.
