AppOnBoard Takes $15M For Mobile App Demo Software

Los Angeles-based AppOnBoard, a developer of a mobile technology platform aimed at helping app developers create app demos, has raised $15M in a Series A funding. The funding was led by Korea Investment Partners (KIP) and also Mirae Asset Management, Mantaray, MTG, and Runa Capital plus London Venture Partners, Troy Capital Partners, and Ophir Capital Group. AppOnBoard--which is led by serial entrepreneur Jonathan Zweig--says the funding will go towards growth and development. The company has now raised $20M in total. AppOnBoard's technology allows users to preview apps or games through interactive experience which mirror an actual app or game--something which helps encourage users to actually purchase an app or game. The company bills those experiences "Full-Fidelity Demos". Zweig--the former founder and CEO of AdColony (which he sold a few years back for $350M)--is one of a number of serial entrepeneurs with promising startups under way in the LA area. More information »
