Titan Gaming Taps Pierce, McCurdy For Board

Los Angeles-based Titan Gaming, the online gaming technology firm backed by the who's who of Southern California's angel investors, said today that it has added EA's Keith McCurdy and Affinity Media's Brock Pierce to its board, as well as appointed a number of executives. McCurdy was previously at Electronic Arts, serving as Vice President of Technology, and was behind the company's online division and massively multiplayer online games (MMOG) efforts. Pierce was the founder of Affinity Media/IGE, which he sold to Goldman Sachs. On the executive side, Titan said it has hired David D. Christensen to lead business development, and named Michael Steuer as Vice President of product Development. Christensen was most recently at Sony Entertainment Online, and has served at Affinity Media. Steuer was most recently a VP at Twistbox, and has also served at THQ, MINICK, and Distefora.

Titan is backed by $1M in funding from William Quigley and Jim Armstrong of Clearstone Ventures; Brock Pierce; MP3.com's Michael Robertson; PriceGrabber's Kamran Pourzanjani; Vonage co-founder Carlos Bhola; SOA Software's Eric Pulier; Jeff Tinsley of MyLife; Hydra's Adam Wicks Walker; Ooma's Andrew Frame; John Lee of GigaMedia; Andy Mazzarella of PatentVest; Revenue Apex co-founder Scott Walker; Ramprate's Tony Greenberg; Korn Ferry's Richard Spitz; iWin's Fred Kreuger, and 5AM Venture Partners. The firm is headed by John Maffei.
