For decades the software engineering industry has been a male-dominated field, and to this day, women who pursue this career path are few and far between. However, that is starting change, namely with the groundbreaking online career development platform that was released on June 13 called Betagig that was founded and programmed by a group of all-female software engineers who are living and coding in the same house and also graduated from the same coding boot camp, Sabio, in Los Angeles. The all-female powerhouse group of developers are using their entrepreneurial spirit and software engineering prowess to create this revolutionary platform, and they are reveling in their femininity while they do it.

The Betagig platform became available for free for all college students on June 13 at betagig.tech, and the software allows users to "beta test" a career choice before deciding on a major and pursuing an educational path. Students can set up job shadowing opportunities in diverse occupations by simply clicking on job positions available at companies that have partnered with Betagig such as Transamerica, LA City Hall and Nich Marketing.

Betagig was founded by software engineers Nicki Klein and Melissa Hargis. The two female entrepreneurs won the prestigious Launch Festival Hackathon in San Francisco this year for the Betagig platform, and the win enabled them to walk away from the competition with $250,000 and numerous investor opportunities, which has given them the backing to make Betagig revolutionary. The win also enabled the founders to participate in the Launch Incubator in San Francisco for a 12-week period that assisted in advancing Betagig's product development and allowed them to pitch to additional renowned investors.
