If we tried to list all the connected, smart and automated home devices at CES 2016, we probably wouldn’t get around to talking about anything else. But we will take the time to mention several of the top devices that will look amazing in your future kitchen, living room – or just about anywhere in the new connected home.

1. Samsung Family Hub Fridge

Samsung Smart Fridge

This smart fridge includes a massive touchscreen.

We usually see a smart fridge or two at CES, but Samsung’s fridge definitely changes the game this time. First, it has four doors that include a huge 21-inch touchscreen with apps for buying food, talking to your family, watching a show, and much more. Second, Samsung is working on including tech from other devices, such as Amazon’s Echo, for even more smart features. Third, the fridge will only cost $5,000, making it one of the cheapest around.

2. Netatmo Presence

The Presence combine security cams and ultra-bright LEDS.

The Presence is a new smart security device for the connected home based around light – specifically, a very bright LED floodlight. It uses a smart infrared outdoor camera that won’t turn on for animals or cars but will happily shine the beam on any approaching humans. It can also take video when it’s turned on, which you can view on your smartphone along with security alerts.

3. LG’s 2016 4K OLED TVs

LG 4k TV 2016

LG’s TVs look as good as possible, plus updated streaming features.

We’ve seen 4K TVs in our smart home automation reviews, and we’ve even seen 4K OLED TVs, but LG’s plans for 2016 unveil unique features that we haven’t seen on the shelves before. This includes certified Ultra HD Premium screen quality, as well as the new webOS 3.0 Smart TV, which is designed to give smoother access to all your streaming entertainment. Unfortunately, the “curve” design still seems to be in style. Fortunately, these LED TVs look amazing – still waiting for a word on price and release dates.

4. Roost Smart Battery

This battery lets you know when it’s low.

Are you curious how Roost made a battery “smart”? The key is in the extra Wi-Fi components, which help send a signal to your phone when your connected home batteries are running low. The first model is made to work with smoke detectors and so on, but we would sure appreciate some for keyboards, mice, and other everyday objects.

5. Prota Microbot Push

Microbot Push

This little cover can push buttons for you as programmed.

We have to give Push credit, it’s very unique and has a lot of fun potential. This little smart gadget, originally part of an Indiegogo project, will push buttons for you. The idea is to transform your old appliances with a cheap smart device that allows you to press physical buttons with a tap on your smartphone, whenever you want and wherever you are. The one downside is that the Microbot Push, at $50, is still pretty pricey.
