TP-Link Expands Mesh Networking Lineup

Brea, California-based networking products maker TP-Link is expanding its lineup of home "mesh" networking devices, saying today that it is rolling out the TP-Link OneMesh and Deco X10 mesh networking products. TP-Link said its new OneMesh product allows users to roll out mesh networking without having to replace existing devices or purchase a "whole new WiFi ecosystem" in their house, and its Deco X10 networking products supports AX WiFi (Wi-Fi 6). Mesh networks use device-to-device communications to extend Wi-Fi coverage throughout a house, to overcome issues with walls and other barriers which typically get in the way of wireless coverage in a home. Unlike most mesh networking products from other manufacturers, the new TP-Link RE300 WiFi Repeater (which the company says will roll out in April) connects to an existing network, rather than requiring a user commit to an end-to-end mesh network. The company said the OneMesh Range Extender RE3000 will have a MSRP of $49.99, with its Deco X10 not due out until Q3 for $349.99 for a 2-pack.
