Newegg Victim Of Credit Card Skimming Malware

Los Angeles-based electronics e-commerce giant Newegg appears to have become the victim of a card-skimming attack on its e-commerce site, according to reports. According to emails released by customers, and as reported by a number of third party security firms, Newegg's site was compromised by software which redirected its customers and collected credit card information, from August 14th to September 18th. The company told users its servers had been "injected with malware". Newegg did not say how many credit cards numbers and other information may have been released through the compromised payment site.
