Unified Dispatch Acquired By Transportation Firm

Altadena-based Unified Dispatch, a provider of fleet management and booking systems for the taxi and transportation market, has been acquired by a unit of Veolia Transportation, the owner of SuperShuttle, ExecuCar, and other transportation services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Unified Dispatch was located in Los Angeles Business Technology Center (BTC), and headed by Dan Tampkin, who has previously been at Momentum Venture Partners, Computer Motion, Robert W. Duggan & Associates, Oracle, and the SEC. According to the On Demand division of Veolia Transportation, Unified Dispatch will operate as a separate division of On Demand and continue to be managed by Dan Tamkin.
