Glaukos Sues Ivantis Over Patents

San Clemente-based Glaukos, which is developing medical technology for the treatment of glaucoma, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Ivantis. According to Glaukos, it filed the patent infringement suit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Southern Division. The suit alleges that the Ivantis Hydrus Microstent device infringes on patents held by Glaukos covering its core glaucoma technologies. Ivantis is based in Irvine, and is backed by such investors as RA Capital Management, Merieux Developpement,and others.
