Hulu Hiking Live TV Prices By 20 Percent

Los Angeles-base streaming television service Hulu announced on Friday that it is upping the price of its Hulu with Live TV service to $54.99, up from $44.99, in what is a fairly significant bump in its subscription rate. The price hike will impact both new and existing subscribers to the service. According to Hulu, the price hike--which will begin December 18th, "better reflects the substantial value of Hulu + Live TV". Hulu said, in its announcement that, "price changes are never easy to stomach", and said it is also making it easier for its subscribers to shift in between its different plans. For example, Hulu said that college football fans might choose Hulu + Live TV during the season, but shift to a more inexpensive plan in the off season. It's unclear what drove the price increase, however, the company said the boost in prices "allows us to continue offering all of the popular live news, sports and entertainment programming included in the plan."
