Phyn Expands Water Monitoring Products

Torrance-based Phyn, the Belkin spinoff which develops very advanced hardware used to monitor the usage of water in the home, has expanded its portfolio of products, the company said over the weekend at CES. According to the company, it has added two new products to its XL series of products, the Phyxl XL 1.5" and Pyn XL 2". The new products expand the company's ability to provide its water monitoring in larger homes, new construction, and light commercial properties which have water supply lines which are up to 2 inches wide. Phyn's sophisticated sensors allow for the monitoring of an entire building, down to the individual faucet or fixture level, using monitoring of the water pressure at a single point in a home. That technology uses machine learning and other techniques which can detect leaks and specific usage of different fixtures. The new hardare included connection to a web-based portal which the company says allows users to manage multiple properties with its devices. The company said those features are aimed at property and asset managers, homeowner associations, insurance companies, utilities and builders. The new devices also feature ability to connect to Ethernet, in addition to Wi-Fi. Phyn is led by CEO Ryan Kim.
