BridgeWave Launches New Wireless Backhaul Product

San Diego-based BridgeWave Communications, a developer of 5G wireless backhaul systems, said it has launched a new product aimed at powering all-outdoor microwave radio systems. The company said it has completed "several" customer trials of its Navigator license microwave radio system, which can be used to create very high speed point-to-point radio links. The company said the new product is built on its own custom ASIC, and that it is now accepting prodution orders for the product. The company has dual and single transceiver options for that new system, with speeds up to 5.5Gbps using its the dual transceiver version of its radio using dual sub-carriers. The company is targeting the new high speed microwave radio systems for use in wireless backhaul systems for communications carriers. Pricing on the new product was not announced.
