Chill Adds Private Chat, Social Game Features

Los Angeles-based Chill, the social video startup which allows users to chat while watching video content, announced today that it has added a number of features to the service. According to the company, it has launched new, private chat features, rich "hovercard" information on other users, and new social game features on the service. Chill's service allows users to "hang out" together in a virtual room to watch videos or events, and chat with other users. The private chat service allows users to connect with one-on-one chats with other users; the firm's improved "hovercard" information provides much deeper information about fellow Chill users, including links to Facebook and Twitter profiles; and finally, the firm has booted up "points" which it awards users, for playing videos that other users like, and other activities. Chill is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Redpoint Ventures, Atlas Venture, Paul Kedrosky, and Michael Arrington of TechCrunch.
