Report: Spaces Acquired By Apple

Los Angeles-based Spaces, which had been developing in-person locations to experience virtual reality, has reportedly been acquired by Apple. A report, from Protocol, said the acquisition came after Spaces announced a shutdown of its services last week. Spaces offered up in-person, virtual reality experiences for theme parks and other retail spaces--which all had been shut down due to the pandemic. The company had attempted to pivot into the virtual reality video conferencing market in the last few months. Spaces was led by CEO Shiraz Akmal.
