Uber Founder Kalanick Joins Kareo's Board

Irvine-based healthcare practice management software developer Kareo has a new, high profile member of its board this week: Travis Kalanick, former CEO and founder of Uber. Kalanick addition to Kareo's board is the first business related move by Kalanick since he was ousted from Uber last June. Kareo develops healthcare practice management software, which manages electronic health records, billing, marketing, telemedicine, and other parts of healthcare pracices. Kareo, led by Dan Rodrigues, has actually counted Kalanick as a longtime investor in the company. Rodrigues went to college with Kalanick at UCLA, and they were co-founders together at music startup Scour.
