GumGum Names Sales VP

Santa Monica-based GumGum, which operates an online digital advertising platform aimed at visual content, said Tuesday that it has named John Weisgerber as its new Senior Vice President of Sales. Weisgerber was most recently at Hearst Corp., serving as Executive Director of Digital Advertising in the area of Fashion and Luxury. He also has served at Forbes Media and Ziff-Davis Publishing. GumGum is venture backed by Morgan Stanley, NEA, Upfront Ventures, First Round Capital, and Crosscut Ventures. The company's platform is used to place advertising within visual content, such as photos.
