Airthinx Aims Air Monitoring Device At Home Market With Nest, Ecobee Integration

Irvine-based Airthinx, a developer of air quality monitoring devices, is tackling the home market with new integration with Nest, Ecobee, and others, the company said this morning. Airthinx develops a 3G and Wi-Fi enabled device which measures such air quality factors as the amount of particulates, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, and more through its device. The company said its device monitors everything from particulate matter (PM 1, PM 2.5, PM 10) to CO2, CH2O, VOCs, and temperature, humidity, and pressure, letting anyone with concern about their health see the quality of their indoor spaces. The company offers up the device for $699 or also leases the device on a monthly basis. The company had initially been marketing the device to the professional and enterprise market.
