AT&T 5G Now Live In LA, San Diego

AT&T says its next generation, 5G network is now live in both Los Angeles and San Diego, as it begins a nationwide rollout of its 5G network. According to AT&T, the rollout of its 5G network--which currently is only accessible with the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G--brings the total number of markets to ten, with plans to start building its nationwide service in the first half of 2020. AT&T says it is using 5G technology with a range of around 2 miles for the rollout for the coverage, using "sub-6" spectrum, with plans to use millimeter wave technology (which has higher bandwidth, but a range of only about 1000 feet) for such areas as stadiums, shopping centers, universities and colleges, and other dense environments. 5G service uses a range of different frequencies to provide extremely fast data access to mobile phones and other mobile devices.
