Lime Retreats From San Diego

E-scooter company Lime is retreating from San Diego--as well as eleven other markets--in what appears to be a shift in the winds for the micro-mobility market startup world. Lime--which competes against such local startups as Bird and Wheels--said that it is shutting down in "select communities throughout the world where micromobility has evolved more slowly". The company said it made the decision to retreat from those markets as it has "shifted our primary focus to profitability". Lime said that, in addition to San Diego, it is retreating from Atlanta, Phoenix, and San Antonio in the United States; Linz, Austria in Europe; and Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Lima, Puerto Vallarta, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Latin America.
