Real Office Centers In Santa Monica To Shut Down

Real Office Centers, the co-working space in Santa Monica--and one of the center of Silicon Beach's technology industry--has lost its lease, and will be shutting down, after a legal battle with landlord Hudson Pacific Properties. According to the LA Times, the lawsuit stemmed from "misuse" of the ROC's terrace, which had frequently been used by local organizations for parties, get togethers, conferences, and other events. Real Office Centers apparently had been prevented from renting out that terrace upper floor and terrace for big, third-party events, one of its key sources of revenue. The property on Arizona Avenue was previously Google's Santa Monica headquarters.
