Lime Suspends Service In California

On-demand electric scooter and bicycle transportation company Lime said on Tuesday that it is suspending all of its services in California, along with Washington State, Italy, France, and Spain. Calling the COVID-19 virus an "unprecedented challenge", the firm said it's "pausing" its services to help people stay put and stay safe. Santa Monica-based Bird, which competes directly against Lime, has yet to suspend any service, saying last week that it had increased the daily frequency at which it cleans and sanitizes its vehicles in the field, including sterilization of its helmets, and also increased frequency of deep-cleaning "Bird Baths" at its local service centers, among other actions.
