Romeo Power In Strategic Alliance With Trash Hauler Republic Services

Los Angeles-based electric vehicle and power technology developer Romeo Power and recycling and solid waste hauler Republic Services said earlier this week that the two are in a strategic alliance. According to the two, they have agreed to collaborate on the development of Romeo Power's battery technology for use in Republic's electric garbage trucks. Financial details of the deal were not announced. The companies said the strategic alliance is part of Republic's fleet electrification strategy, with a plan to test retrofitting diesel engines and components from two Republic vehicles, and replacement with electric motors and Romeo Power battery packs.
