Harbor Launches SOS Feature, Premium Service

Los Angeles-based startup Harbor, which is led by Dan Kessler, said it has launched a new, paid premium subscription service called Harbor Premium. The new service is being launched in a partnership with ADT, and connects users to ADT's monitoring team. According to Harbor, the partnership allows ADT to contact the user, alert authorities, and share their location, as well as other user-provided, personally identifiable information to help emergency responders locate and identify them. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. Harbor provides personalized risk management tools and provides guidance to its users, step-by-step, on improving their disaster preparedness. The new Harbor Premium service revolved around "HarborHELP", a SOS button in the app which immediately contacts ADT. In addition to the SOS features, the premium version also includes ability to add unlimited family members to a user's Harbor account, and provides offline expert emergency guides. Harbor is backed by 25madison; Kessler was previously an executive at Headspace.
