City of Hope Teams On New Cell Therapy Manufacturing Site

Duarte-based cancer research and treatment center City of Hope and Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), an affiliate, said the two plan to develop their own, cell therapy manufacturing facility, which will be based in Phoenix, Arizona. According to the two, the new cell therapy manufacturing facility will help it improve the speed at which stem cell research and cancer treatment is delivered. City of Hope currently has a facility in Duarte, where it says it has produced over 1,300 cell and gene therapy products and oncology drugs for many cancer clinical trials across the nation. The two did not say how much they will invest to build the new facility.
