Snapchat Steps Into Controversy Over Domestic Violence, Rihanna

Venice, California-based Snap Inc., the company behind Snapchat, has run into more controversy, after celebrity Rihanna weighed in on an poll advertisement Snapchat had approved and run on its service asked viewers to vote on whether they'd like to "slap Rihanna" or "punch Chris Brown". The ad refers to a 2009 domestic violence incident. Snapchat has reportedly apologized for the incident. It appears that staff at the social communications software maker somehow approved the controversial advertisement.
