Santa Monica-based Userplan has extended the firm's chat applications, saying Tuesday that the firm will connect users of its chat application across different web sites, regardless of where they are on the web. The developer of web widgets said that the cross-platform chat is available on any social networking with an open API.

Owen Van Natta , the former CEO of MySpace, has turned up as Executive Vice President of Business Operations at social gaming maker Zynga , according to multiple sources. Van Natta left Los Angeles-based MySpace in February, leaving the operation of the social networking site to Jason Hirschorn and Michael Jones.
