Signal Sciences Adds Cloud Web Application Firewall

Los Angeles-based security software developer Signal Sciences, which is venture backed by Lead Edge Capital, CRV, Index Ventures, Harrison Metal and OATV, said Tuesday morning that it has rolled out a new, cloud-based Web Application Firewall (WAF) product to lits lineup. According to Signal Sciences, the new offering requires no installation, offering up protection for critical web applications, APIs, and microservices no matter where they reside. Signal Sciences says that its new offering allows its customers to just make a simple DNS change, which redirects all web requests to its Signal Sciences Cloud Engine. The deployment option--which is widely used by WAF and cloud cashing competitors--makes it much easier for companies to implement the Signal Sciences' security software product. Signal Sciences said the new Cloud WAF product protects cloud-native, legacy and serverless applications regardless of where they're hosted.
