SpaceX Plans Launch Of 60 More Starlink Satellites Today

Hawthorne-based SpaceX is getting set to launch 60 additional Starlink satellites today, with a target launch of 6:56 a.m. PST, from its lauchpad at Cape Canaveral. According to SpaceX, the new set of Starlink satellites will fly on a previously flown Falcon 9, along with a previously flown fairing. The launch will nearly double the number of Starlink satellites that SpaceX has launching into space; the company already has launched 62 satellites, the first in thousands planned by SpaceX. According to SpaceX, of the last batch of 60 satellites, 57 are still in orbit, although three became non-operational after launch. SpaceX hopes to deploy thousands of Starlink satellites to provide broadband Internet access across the global, including rural communities and elsewhere without Internet access.
