SpaceX Targets Wednesday Early AM For Next Launch

Hawthorne-based SpaceX is targeting its next launch for here in Southern California tomorrow, July 25th, at the very, very early morning hours. SpaceX said it will be attempting to launch the Iridum-7 NEXT mission at 4:39 a.m. PDT from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base. The launch should be visible to a large chunk of Southern California's residents. SpaceX said the backup launch opportunity is Thursday, July 26th, at 4:33 a.m. PDT. The Iridium-7 is the seventh of a total of 75 satellites that SpaceX has been contracted to launch by Iridium, which provides satellite communications services acros the world. SpaceX said it will attempt to land the first stage of the Falcon 9 being used in the mission in the Pacific Ocean, on the "Just Read the Instructions" droneship.
