Broadcom Acquires Symantec's Enterprise Security Business

Broadcom, which still has significant operations in Orange County, said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of the Enterprise Security business of Symantec Corporation, which had been announced in August. The deal was worth $10.7 billion in cash. According to Broadcom, Symantec's Enterprise Security business will now operate as the Symantec Enterprise division of Broadcom. The new division will be headed by former Symantec General manager Art Gilliland, who will serve as SVP and General Manager of the new division. Broadcom has been actively acquiring enterprise software companies, and acquired CA Technologies back in 2018 in another big acquisition, worth $18.9 billion.
