Emburse Swallows Up Chrome River, Launches New Unified Company

A new, Los Angeles-based company, Emburse, launched today, out of the acquisition of six different expense and accounts payable (AP) automation companies, including LA-based Chrome River. Emburse said this morning that it has created a single, unified entity, emcompassing companies Abacus, Captio, Certify, Chrome River, Nexonia, and Tallie. All of those companies had provided some aspect of expense management. Chrome River acquired Emburse back in July of 2019. As part of the new, unified brand, Emburse said it has named Eric Friedrichsen as its Chief Executive Officer. The unified company says it now has 750 employees, and has more than 14,000 customers across 120 countries. Friedrichsen was previously Global Head of Commercial, SMB, and Growth Markets for Marketo, and also served at SAP and SAP Concur, along with Business Objects and Information Builders.
