ZipRecruiter Cuts More Than 400

Santa Monica-based ZipRecruiter, which provides online recruiting services, has cut more than 400 employees, one of thousands of companies cutting their ranks as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The company, which is led by CEO Ian Siegel, had been in the midst of an incredible expansion, having grown to more than 1,000 employees in 2018 among a strong job market. ZipRecruiter was among a number of Southern California unicorn companies, valued above $1 billion, as of its last round in 2018, and had been rumored to be working on an IPO.
