BayWa r.e. Supports Hurricane Ida Relief

Irvine-based renewable energy developer BayWa r.e. said this week that it has donated $20,000 to the Footprint Project, a nonprofit which is deploying solar power trailers and portable charging stations into Louisiana to help with Hurricane Ida relief. According to the renewable energy developer, the donation comes as a result of the cancellation of a big trade industry show, Solar Power International, which was to be held in New Orleans. Footprint Project has deployed a fleet of solar trailers and portable charging stations, with solar panels and batteries, to help provide everything from cellphone charging, medical device charging, to running refrigeration, ice makers, freezers and portable air conditioners. Parts of Louisiana are still completely without power due to the impacts of Ida.
