RivetAI Targets Hollywood With AI Tools

Can artificial intelligence help Hollywood unlock more creativity from storytellers? Los Angeles-based RivetAI hopes it can, saying Thursday that it has launched to apply artificial intelligence technology to help assist storytellers in planning and producing content. The startup--whose founders come from production company End Cue, SpaceX, and Caltech--says its software can help assist in such areas as script dissection--providing producers with information every prop, character, and scene that will be required on set; budget prediction; optimizing scheduling; and even in analyzing script plots and suggesting changes to writers. The startup's CEO is Debajyoti Ray, former CTO of End Cue and Caltech AI Ph.D.; the team also includes Sadaf Amouzegar (SpaceX, Caltech) and Nathan Crockett (astrophysicist from the University of Michigan and postdoc, Caltech).
