The Techstars Foundation, the nonprofit arm of startup accelerator operator Techstars which is focused on increasing the number of under-represented entrepreneurs in the technology industry, is looking to give $10,000 to $50,000 to nonprofits working in the area, Techstars said Friday. Techstars--which runs a significant number of startup accelerators in Los Angeles, including Techstars Los Angeles, the Techstars Starburst Space Accelerator, Techstars Music, and the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator Powered by Techstars--said it has started accepting applications from nonprofits looking for grants. The group said it is looking for 501(c)(3) organization that are running educational programs aligned with its efforts to support and develop under-represented entrepreneurs. The Foundation's grants range from $10,000 to $50,000, depending on the established organization's budget, according to Techstars. Applications are open through April 8th. Techstars created the Techstars Foundation in 2015, in a bid to help increase the number of underrepresented entrepreneurs in the ecosystem.
