Veritone Names New Board Member

Costa Mesa-based artificial intelligence software developer Veritone said on Thursday afternoon that it has named a new member to its board of directors. Veritone said that Richard H. (Rick) Taketa has joined its board, replacing Nate Checketts, the CEO of Rhone Apparel. Taketa was most recently President and CEO of York Risk Services, an insurance services company; he also served at DLA and an un-named private equity firm, and is a director of Palomar Insurance, Alphaeon Corporation, and the Hoag Hospital Foundation. Veritone is led by Chad and Ryan Steelberg, best known for selling one of their startups, dMarc, to Google.
