THQ had hoped to sell THQ to Clearlake Capital or another buyer, but apparently found that the separately sold assets would net more than a single buyer.

THQ said it has hired an investment banker to help it consider "strategic alternatives", in hopes of raising additional capital to bring a number of titles to market.
