Carpe Data Finds $6.6M

Drucker was previously co-founder of Social Intelligence, and also co-founded Steel Card, an enterprise software company focused on software, which was sold to ChoicePoint in August of 2006. Santa Barbara-based Carpe Data , a new startup developing predictive data software for the insurance industry, has raised $6.6M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Aquiline Technology Growth (ATG). Carpe Data is led by Max Drucker.

TVC Capital Backs Celigo

Celigo said this morning that it has raised $8M in an expansion capital round, its first institutional funding since it was founded in 2006. San Diego-based software growth equity investor TVC Capital has backed Celigo , a developer of software to integrate cloud-based applications. A part of the funding, TVC Capital's Steven J. Hammerslag joins the company's board of directors. Celigo said the funding will go to expand sales, marketing, and product development.

Spokeo Hits 150 Employees, Reports Growth

Spokeo, which has been around since 2006, lets users search for people using their name, phone number, email address, or usernames; the company says its service is aimed at helping people reconnect with friends and family they have lost touch with. Pasadena-based people search engine provider Spokeo is up to 150 employees in its Pasadena headquarters, almost double the number of employees it had in 2012, the company said today.
