IPO Market Surpasses 2008, 2009, According to Report

A new report today released by PwC finds that the market for initial public offerings (IPOs) has jumped significantly in 2010, with volumes exceeding both 2008 and 2009 levels. PwC tallied up 154 IPOs completed this year so far, raising $37.5 billion for companies, which is 123 percent increase in volume and a 49 percent increase in volume compared with numbers last year.

Bolingbrook, Illinois-based Elevance Renewable Sciences , a developer of ingredients for use in personal care products, detergents, lubricants and other specialty chemicals and fuel markets, based on renewable feedstock, has raised $100M in funding, the firm said Tuesday. DATAllegro Acquisition Completes

Microsoft said that DATAllegro's technology will show up in Microsoft SQL Server through community technology previews (CTPs) within the next 12 months, with full product availability scheduled for the first half of 2010. Aliso Viejo-based DATAllegro is now officially part of Microsoft, Microsoft said Tuesday, and will become part of Microsoft's SQL Server offering.

NextWave Wireless Gets $100M In Debt, Cuts Staff, Hires Banker

NextWave said that the debt will go towards funding its operations into 2010. San Diego-based wireless broadband technology firm NextWave Wireless said today that it has scored a new, $100M debt financing for the firm's business, and made cuts in its staff, along with hiring an investment banker. The company said the restructuring included a reduction in workforce by over 20 percent.
