Yahoo Taps Former MySpace Exec For Revenue Chief

The company said Monday that it is tapping the former Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at Fox Interactive Media / MySpace, Michael Barrett , as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, under interim CEO Ross Levinsohn, the firm said Monday. Barrett was most recently at Google, where he had been since 2008, when Google acquired Admeld, where he was CEO. Barrett was Chief Revenue Officer at Los Angeles-based MySpace.

MySpace Launches Browser Toolbar

Los Angeles-based MySpace said Monday that it has opened a beta of a new self-serve, advertising platform is it calling MySpace MyAds. According to the social networking site, the new ad platform is targeted at individuals and small businesses, and allows them to target and create banner ads to specific MySpace audiences. MySpace said that advertisers can spend as little as $25 to advertise on its site.
