This morning's interview is with Mark Suster , a venture capitalist at GRP Partners ( GRP has just recently closed on a new $200M fund, and Mark has been one of the more active venture capitalists in the Los Angeles area in recent months. It looks like GRP has been making lots of early stage investments lately--can you talk a little bit about your investment preferences and what you are looking at nowadays?

Burstly Snags $1.8M For Mobile Ad Tools


The funding round came from GRP Partners and Rincon Ventures. Mark Suster at GRP lead the firm's investment, with Jim Andelman heading up Rincon's involvement. Los Angeles-based Burstly announced Tuesday afternoon that the firm has raised $1.8M in a venture funding.

As part of the new mobile ad service, Burstly said it has partnered with mobile application developer Newtoy, which develops the Words With Friends application. Burstly is venture backed by Founder Collective, GRP Partners, Rincon Venture Partners, and SoftBank Capital.
