I'm happy to announce the launch of the Los Angeles Tech Content Community. This is the beginning of a content community that collects and organizes the best content from blogs and web sites. The goal is to create a place where it's relatively easy to find current content and highly relevant content surrounding Los Angeles Technology. To be clear Los Angeles Tech is a jump off point. The content comes from other places. This is mostly from bloggers, but also from pages being included by members.

This past week has had an interesting confluence of events that's led me to conclude that I want to start doing a lot of visible networking among the tech / web crowd here in Los Angeles. Yammer Bails On Los Angeles, Heading To Silicon Valley

Sacks revealed the move at the Twiistup conference Friday, explained the move by saying that "what I miss are all the technology companies are out of there, and I miss tapping the brain trust up there." West Hollywood-based Yammer , the corporate microblogging site inspired by Twitter, is moving from the Los Angeles area to Silicon Valley, according to founder David Sacks.

EQAL Launches Social Publishing Tool

Los Angeles-based EQAL , said this morning at Twiistup that the firm is launching a new, social publishing tool it is calling Umbrella, focused on independent producers, celebrity talent, and online personalities. According to EQAL, its new platform is focused on helping those producers and talent to create their own web sites, with features such as blogs, discussions, forums, and user profiles, as well as links to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
