Greg was the first person to share with me the insights of mobile conversion and why with a simpler product selection and conversion funnel they would get higher conversion on mobile than on the web. In 2011 the company was sold to Nordstrom for $270 million in a deal that has been widely seen as a success for both buyer and seller.

They've provided a completely free facility, furniture, Internet access, mentoring, sponsorship--all of those things are provided for free. I jumped in at the end of 2010, just as the majority of investments happened--I think $50M to $52M came in 2011. That's through the generosity of the Irvine Company. So, that't the foundation.

I guess no one told him about the medical startups that were purchased by Medtronic, Linvatec, Storz, Mentor, etc., End result, the company’s product timeline has been pushed back substantially and the company’s morale is at an all-time low. all of which continue to thrive in Santa Barbara to this day. Thanks Mr. Big Firm VC.

Since then, we've replicated the model with a local managing director, local mentors, and have expanded to roughly 25 different programs around the world. billion combined.
