Lynda.com Gets Award For Job Creation

The company said it filled nearly 200 jobs from 2008 to 2011, tops in the Education industry. Lynda.com now has operations in Carpinteria and Calabasas, and according to the firm's web site has over 400 employees in total. Lynda.com said the award will appears in Inc's December/January issue.

Twitter Shuts TweetDeck

For awhile, it looked like Ubermedia had acquired the popular Twitter client for around $30M--only to have Twitter trump those efforts and ultimately acquired Tweetdeck in May of 2011. It's unclear where that currently leaves Ubermedia, which owns popular Twitter clients UberSocial, Echofon, Plume, among with other mobile apps.

Launchpad LA Gears Up For New Class
