AeroVironment Wins $13M USAF Award


Monrovia, California-based Aerovironment , which develops unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the military market, reports that it has received a $13M contract from the United States Air Force. AeroVironment said the contract is expected to run until September 28, 2023. According to AeroVironment, the new contract award covers support of Latin America and Caribbean nations with its RQ-11B Raven drone. AeroVironment says its Raven UAS wlil be deployed by the U.S.

Sabrewing Aircraft Lands $2M For Massive Cargo Drones


Camarillo-based aircraft startup Sabrewing Aircraft Company , which says it is developing large, un-manned vertical take off and landing (VTOL) cargo carrying drones, said on Tuesday that it has received over $2M in a funding round. Sabrewing says it hopes to have FAA certification for its first aircraft in 2023.
