GeoLinks Names Corporate Development VP

Camarillo-based GeoLinks said last week that it has named James Childs as its new Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Spectrum Strategy. Childs was most recently VP of Corporate Strateg yfor Cambridge Broadband Networks, and also previously had co-foudned Velowave, a fixed wireless ISP which was sold to Sling Broadband in 2008. He also started Light Link Broadband, another wireless ISP, in 1998.

Robotaxi Company Pony.ai Gets Permits To Test Vehicles In Irvine

Pony.ai, a Chinese company developing driverless "robo-taxi" vehicles, has gained permission from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to test its vehicles on public roads in Irvine, along with Fremont and Milpitas. According to the DMV, the permit will allow the company to test six autonomous vehicles without a driver behind the wheel on specified streets within Fremont (Alameda County), Milpitas (Santa Clara County) and Irvine (Orange County).

Electrify America Plans $25M EV Charging Investment In Long Beach

Electrify America, an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure developer, says it plans to invest $25M in the Long Beach-Wilmington community, part of a larger $200M investment in California for zero emissions vehicles. Anaheim-based laptop and technology accessory maker Targus has acquired Sanho, the maker of the Hyper brand of IT and mobile accessories, the company said on Tuesday. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. according to Targus, the acquisition will help it diversify its accessory portfolio geared towards Apple and PC consumers.
