Activision: Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Makes More Than $1 Billion

Santa Monica-based game publisher Activision said today that it has hit $1 billion in revenue in just the first 10 days of the release of its latest title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The company said the revenue exceeded the previous record, which it set in 2012 in 15 days with its earlier title, Black Ops II. The company said that people have played more than 1 billion matches across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC so far on the new title.

InCharge Energy Acquired By ABB

Santa Monica-based InCharge Energy a developer of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, has been acquired by Zurich-based ABB. Financial details of the deal were not announced. ABB said deal gives it an approximately 60% controlling interest in InCharge Energy. InCharge has around 50 employees. InCharge Energy says it provides EV fleet planning services, design and engineering, construction and commissioning, and other related services.

BlackLine Acquires FourQ Systems

Los Angeles-based accounting automation software developer BlackLine said on Thursday that it has acquired FourQ Systems, a developer of financial management software. According to BlackLine, it paid $165M at close, plus earnout of over $75M over the next three years subject to certain financial performance milestones. BlackLine said the deal will help it enhance its existing intercompany accounting automation capabilities.

PARCLL Expands In Dallas-Fort Worth

Los Angeles-based e-commerce logistics provider PARCLL said this week that it is expanding its network of facilities, and is opening up a new facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. The company said its now has facilities in Long Beach, New York City, Chicago, and Miami. PARCLL says it offers up small package delivery services for both domestic and international small parcel delivery.

Lighthouse Adds Security Deposit Insurance

Los Angeles-based software developer Lighthouse, which develops software for landlords and tenants, says it is expanding its service, and will begun offering up security deposit insurance. The company said the new offering comes as a result of a partnership with Topa Insurance Company. Lighthouse said the service allows tenants to pay a monthly premium for insurance to cover lost rent or property damage, replacing the need for a high sum security cash deposit.

FIGS CFO To Retire

Santa Monica-based healthcare apparel provider FIGS said this morning that its CFO, Jeffrey Lawrence, is retiring. According to FIGS, Lawrence will retire effective December 24th. Lawrence has been CFO of the company since December of 2020. FIGS did not say who will replace Lawrence as CFO at the company. The company said Lawrence had previously come out of retirement to help the company with its IPO.
